Intendo mettere:
Apache + mod_php
MySQL
Postfix
La domanda è: che flag posso impostare su /etc/make.conf considerando che intendo ricevere mail su "rot.daemon.sh" [mio subdominio virtuale]?

env USE="-* +apache2 +mysql +php +ssl +imap +mbox +crypt +tcpd +doc +pam" emerge ...
Io metterei piu o meno queste, puoi fare sempre delle modificazioni
del tipo.. anziche usare imap, puoi usare pop3, con ssl o senza ssl..
tcpd ssl crypt e pam e' per ottenere la magior sicurezza possibile
e i +doc sono importanti se ti server la documentazione non ti metti
a fare i giri su internet, ce l'hai bella pronta nel tuo server!

Imho no. Per me è sbagliato lasciare fuori cose importanti come ssl, tcpd e negare tutto ciò che non metti esplicitamente. Per me la cosa più saggia sarebbe dare un bel "less /usr/portage/profiles/use.desc" e leggersi la descrizione di ogni flag, annotando quelle che possono servire e negando quelle inutili. Alla fine si scoprono sempre cose nuove, si conosce meglio la propria box e si crea un sistema personale ed efficiente (e ci si mette 5 minuti massimo, non è che si siano milioni di flags).

Bene, per ora ho installato pure-ftpd [molto interessante e abbastanza versatile ] e openssh.

Bene ho installato mysql+apache+php : è andato tutto bene .
Cmq, non vorrei essere petulante ai vostri occhi, ma voi ... come avreste svolto il tutto, tralasciando il discorso del famoso howto sulla virtual mail?
Mi piacerebbe saperlo, ne futuro dovessi reisntallare e fare le cose da hoc .
