|
|
I'm attempting to update my amd64 system (emerge --update --deep @world) and getting a conflict error:
Code: | dev-libs/glib:2
(dev-libs/glib-2.38.2::gentoo, ebuild scheduled for merge) pulled in by
>=dev-libs/glib-2.38:2 required by (net-libs/glib-networking-2.38.2::gentoo, ebuild scheduled for merge)
(and 1 more with the same problem)
(dev-libs/glib-2.36.4-r1::gentoo, installed) pulled in by
(no parents that aren't satisfied by other packages in this slot) |
glib-2.38.2 is currently masked on amd64 but is required by glib-networking-2.38.2. Unmasking it causes all kinds of other problems because so many other packages depend on the unmasked glib version, glib-2.36.4.
It seems wrong that the amd64 version of glib-networking should depend on a masked version of glib. Is this a bug?

Wait a while, then resync and try again. One of the devs made an error and ran the wrong script - which made a bunch of gnome things stable that were not ready. It has supposedly all been reversed, although I tried and just got the same error again. See this bug for the details. This was also mentioned in at least one other forum post in the past few hours. |

After a resync, all is well again. Thanks. |
