I got a data cable for my Nokia 8310... and as it's usb, and gnokii expects a serial device.. i looked in to the usbserial driver...
so far ive not had much success.. i compiled it as a module.. added it to my modules.autoload.d ... when i boot up i get this (with dmesg):
Code: | drivers/usb/serial/usb-serial.c: USB Serial support registered for Generic
drivers/usb/core/usb.c: registered new driver usbserial
drivers/usb/serial/usb-serial.c: USB Serial Driver core v2.0 |
so far so good..
when i plug the phone in i get this:
Code: | hub 2-0:0: debounce: port 3: delay 100ms stable 4 status 0x501
hub 3-0:0: debounce: port 2: delay 100ms stable 4 status 0x101
hub 3-0:0: new USB device on port 2, assigned address 2 |
but from what ive been reading..i expected something like /dev/usb/ttyUSB0 to be created or something... but no such luck..
i have quite a other usb devices attatched to my pc (mouse), so maybe the driver doesnt know which driver to class as serial?
any help would be greatly appreciated as i am VERY confused! |
