PMTU setup question for best interactive performance

ok, i have heard that there is a flag called ip_pmtu
that is it a flag that somehow enable or disable an automatic maximum MTU to a specific site. Am i any right?

basically , i wouldlike to know if linux knows how to dynamically adjust the MTU for eth0 for different sites.
