hello.
I want to make clear on this subject, so i need a few answers (or if anyone can tell me where can i find info about this):
- what did M$ change so that ppl were asking if it's still gona work with 3rd party MSN clients after october the 15th?
- did M$ implimented SSL in theyr MSN protocol?

I beleive I remeber reading something about it using ssl to authenticate to the servers. But dont quote me on that. I do know that amsn needs ssl to connect.
The digging I did could only come up with this:

Thank you for that link. And if anyone else wants to know... Here's a snip from gaim forums.... I asked there the same Q:
Code: | #1 They updated the servers so that they no longer will accept clients that use older versions of their protocol (most 3rd party clients use / used older versions. Gaim MSN support has been updated so that it now uses MSN Protocol version 9 (i believe), which is the latest version (i also believe).
#2 Yes, the required version of the MSN Messenger protocol uses SSL. |
