Yes, there most definitely is at least one. It's called 'irssi', and it runs really well within 'screen'.

As a user of BitchX for many many years I must completely say that it sucks -ass- compared to basically any other console IRC client including irssi.
It is bloaty and awful in every way, that is all. |

Sorry about the mentioning of BX...was just throwing it out there since there are so few cosole clients around
Personally, I use irssi anytime (which is nary often) I need to use a console client. |

There are very few good console irc clients, and you will probably be better served finding out about them in irc progs, which discusses many clients in detail both console and gui-based. Moving from Networking and Security. _________________ if i never try anything, i never learn anything..
