|
|
Hello,
I run a little file + print server on a raspberry pi (version 1, 256Mo), the system is on a USB hard disk.
I use encrypted disks on my laptops using LUKS and LVM, and I would like to encrypt all my hard drives, including this for the Raspberry Pi.
Would the LUKS + LVM slow down the system? I could only encrypt the NAS partition if it could be a bottleneck for the system. _________________ Kind regards,

It will be dead slow. Run 'cryptsetup benchmark' to find out how bad exactly - the speeds you see there will be better than the ones you actually get with real I/O.
For the system itself, provided it has enough RAM, it would not have much of an effect but any disk I/O will be a crawl. |

It doesn't have so much RAM : 256 Mo. _________________ Kind regards,
