Hi,

I installed gentoo with gnome/systemd in one computer and it works ok.
Now I am trying to installed on the other computer with KDE -
I emerged kde-meta, xorg-server and added DISPLAYMANAGER="kdm" in /etc/conf.d/xdm.
I am getting the GUI login dialog with the name of my host but can not login with root's password.

Please advise!

For security reason, root access for kde ist not allowed.

If you still want to logon as root, you must edit:
/usr/share/config/kdm/kdmrc

AllowRootLogin=false

Set it to true.
