I'm having some odd problems with pcmcia-cs on an old laptop running vanilla 2.4.22 & pcmcia-cs 3.2.4 - this is what syslog says when pcmcia starts;
[kernel] Linux PCMCIA Card Services 3.2.4
[kernel] Intel ISA/PCI/CardBus PCIC probe:
[kernel] ISA irqs (default) = 3,5,9,10,11 polling intercal = 1000 ms
[cardmgr] watching 2 sockets
[cardmgr] starting, version is 3.2.4
so far so good, but when i plugin the networkcard, the following happens;
[kernel] cs: memory probe 0x0d0000-0x0dffff: clean
[cardmgr] socket 0: Belkin F5D5020 Fast Ethernet
[cardmgr] executing: 'modprobe pcnet_cs'

switched to gentoo-sources and everything worked instantly.. (well, ~24hours later) - compiling kernel + pcmcia_cs on a 486 aint too fast |
