so, I got a Acces Point finally, everything is working, except one thing I noticed, when I try to ping/use a pc behind the AP it says, destination host unreachable. Is this something to do with the WEP encryption or some one who knows how I can solve this ?
The AP I'm using is a D-Link DWL-2000AP (if this is needed ) |

I would check the AP to see if for some reason it is blocking ping traffic. _________________ Long live the gentoo forums!!!!! |

In which mode do you run the DWL?
Pure AP mode or in AP multipoint bridge mode? _________________ Nothing is secure / Security is always a trade-off with usability / Do not assume anything / Trust no-one, nothing / Paranoia is your friend / Think for yourself |

it's running as pure Acces Point and there's no firewall between the wireless and wired network. Maybe this helps... |

what are your network settings (on all machines)?
ip-address / network mask / gateway / etc.... _________________ Nothing is secure / Security is always a trade-off with usability / Do not assume anything / Trust no-one, nothing / Paranoia is your friend / Think for yourself |

gateway has: 10.0.0.30 (255.255.255.0)
all other wired pc's are in the 10.0.0.x range (below the .30)
the AP has 10.0.0.60 (255.255.255.0)
all wireless pc's are also in the 10.0.0.x range (between the .30 and the .60)
in the network intern are no firewalls configured or installed (except the gateway has one but that's for the link to the 'world' (internet)). If you want to know something else just tell me what and I'll post it |

Can you try disabling WEP? IIRC something similar happened with my Xbox over a wireless bidge - I changed my keys and the Xbox live service stopped working and couldn't ping it..... |

When WEP is turned off I can ping it , seems like you can't set the AP to allow the wired network to connect to the wireless network |
