|
|
Hi everyone,
On boot-up I get a ton of messages similar to this from cups:
Code: | modprobe: Can't locate module /dev/usb/lp0 |
I get these messages for just about every printer device possible, except /dev/lp0, because that is the only one I use (and it works fine). So, these messages aren't really that big of a deal, but if someone could let me know how I tell cups to not to try to load such modules, I'd appreciate it.
Thanks |

it means that you don't have usb printing support available (either as a module or built-in to the kernel) so go back into the kernel setup and in the usb section enable usb printing support either as a module or built-in to the kernel. |

No, you see I have my printer working fine. I run it from the parallel port (/dev/lp0). The thing is that Cups tries to load a bunch of modules at start-up, when it only needs to load one.
Any further help is appreciated. |
