There seem to be quite a few dependencies to be resolved in order to upgrade to: xf86-video-intel-2.99.917_p20160316 Any news as of when this will be default?
Thanks |

What dependencies are you referring to?
I am using xf86-video-intel-2.99.917_p20160316 and to do that I just created /etc/portage/package.accept_keywords/xf86-video-intel with the following contents:
Code: | >=x11-drivers/xf86-video-intel-2.99.917 ~amd64
# required by x11-base/xorg-server-1.18.1::gentoo[xorg]
# required by x11-drivers/xf86-video-intel-2.99.917_p20160224::gentoo[dri]
# required by x11-drivers/xf86-video-intel (argument)
=x11-base/xorg-drivers-1.18-r1 ~amd64
# required by x11-drivers/xf86-video-intel-2.99.917_p20160224::gentoo[dri]
# required by x11-base/xorg-drivers-1.18-r1::gentoo[video_cards_intel]
# required by x11-base/xorg-server-1.17.4::gentoo[xorg]
# required by @selected
# required by @world (argument)
=x11-base/xorg-server-1.18.1 ~amd64
x11-drivers/xf86-input-evdev ~amd64

Actually, as suggested by the file's comments, I did this for x11-drivers/xf86-video-intel-2.99.917_p20160224, but it also worked for p20160316 and looks like it will still work for p20160324 which is now available.
Also noteworthy:
Code: | # emerge --info xf86-video-intel
.
.
.
x11-drivers/xf86-video-intel-2.99.917_p20160316::gentoo was built with the following:
USE="dri dri3 sna udev -debug -uxa -xvmc" ABI_X86="64"
LDFLAGS="-Wl,-O1 -Wl,--as-needed -Wl,-z,lazy"
|
I originally switched to p20160224 while trying to resolve an issue with rendering artifacts (random areas of various apps not properly being refreshed) but it hasn't helped ... at least not completely. I think I finally solved this issue another way, but further testing is required to know for sure. |
