Does anyone have hibernate working properly with systemd?
I followed the instructions here http://alonbl.wikinet.org/wiki/Gentoo/Suspend_To_Disk_Using_uswsusp_and_genkernel to generate the initramfs.
My boot command line looks like this:
ro root=/dev/md22 domdadm rootfstype=ext4 real_init=/usr/lib/systemd/systemd initrd=initramfs-genkernel-x86_64-3.12.13-gentoo resume=/dev/md23
And I have the same resume partition specified in the kernel too.
I have invoked hiberate in various ways including "systemctl hibernate". They all seem to work.
However, when I boot up, it just boots normally. No resume. Looking at the syslog output (/var/log/messages) I see no evidence that it even tried to resume.

It looks like I missed the overlay when running genkernel. Once I redid that part, hibernate started to work. Of course, now I have other problems but the basic hibernate procedure is now working reliably so this thread is solved. |
