I'm happy that finally vpopmail package is in the gentoo ports...
However, i have a problem using vpopmail+mysql+qmail+courier-imapd(ssl) with the roaming users.

My /etc/tcp.smtp.cdb file never gets changed no matter who's logging in...
(in other words, there's no more roaming users feature...)
And why is that?
Because the mysql db storing the user data is not updated with correct user data (to be more precise - the IP of the user)
Instead of the user IP when someone authenticates i get "imap" as value.

Anyone could give me a hint?

Thank You!

Do you use "pop b4 smtp" authentication ?

If yes, you can try to use the SMTP AUTH feature of postfix. It allows users who login to relay mail, its very nice and a clean way to allow users to send mail from roaming machines.

Yes, the pop3 auth is done first.
And about the smtp auth, i don't want to switch from qmail to postfix.

Yep!

If you don't have the vpopmail package in the /usr/portage/net-mail then, you may want to do "emerge rsync" first.

probably the roaming users problem relies in the option --disable-roaming-users on the vpopmail ebuild.
