My hosting provider has stopped supporting Gentoo
Can anyone recommend a hosting provider that's Gentoo friendly and have physical machines in Europe? |

Letharion,
I used to use Gladserv in the UK. They are in the same datacentre as bytemarks full gentoo mirror.
Then I outgrew a VPS and moved to a whole server from OVH in France. Bytemark used to offer Gentoo VPS but I don't know if they still do.
OVH are dreadful, the support is terrible, in 2013 their Gentoo was still using baselayout1 and lots of other things I had forgotten about.
After looking at it for 30 min, I blew it away and installed my own Gentoo.
OVH are cheap - expect what you pay for.
Hetzner seem to be quite good. I'm in the process of moving to them from OHV.
The link is for recycled servers. They also do VPS. _________________ Regards,

I found oneprovider with thier Paris servers cheaper than OVH (kimsufi's) and much better, as it does provide iLO (I can see kernel panic!), hardware raid and 1Gb (guarantee 200Mbps) link to the outside world for 20 euro
However, as you talk about VPS and I presume you're talking about real VPS, like KVM and not containers like OpenVZ, as such, most providers give you some sort of rescue system, you can use it to install gentoo. fwiw I've used network block device (both nbd-server and qemu-nbd) to pipe VPS's harddisk over ssh and then locally install gentoo on it, so you can do it as well. |

It quite depends on what you mean with "supports"..
Gentoo of all *Nix'es I actually cannot blame for hosting parties "to not support". However, anyone who doesn't wan't you as a client because you prefer Gentoo, is not worth your time. Please remember, they want your money just as bad |
