I am running up against the following problem:

During install stage 2, emerge system aborted while trying to resolve http://dibavb.st.simbirsk.su/bld/sash3.x-readline.diff.gz stating Host not found.

I followed the advice in https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=81069&highlight=sash that jcall posted, which was changing the ebuild to SRC_URI="http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/distributions/gentoo/distfiles/${P}.tar.gz
http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/distributions/gentoo/distfiles/sash-3.x-readline.diff.gz
but this server could not be found either.

Other servers have resulted in 403 errors.

Does anyone know of a server that this is located on that will allow me to download it so that I may continue with the install?

Thanks.

dracolich,

Try going to the mirror section of www.gentoo.org, pick a mirror and look for a distfiles directory, then search the directory for what you need.

I tried UW Madison, http://gentoo.chem.wisc.edu/gentoo/distfiles/sash-3.x-readline.diff.gz so it exists there.

Pete

Thank you Pete_Keller. I should have gone there instead of Google to find the file. I feel like such a goober right now. That solved the problem.

Thanks again.
