Hi, I'm having some trouble with distorted sound. When I play even a high quality file, the sound comes out as crackly and distorted. I'm no audiophile, but it is definitely unlistenable.
The same problem happens with an SBLive Value and the onboard Intel8x0 chip on my motherboard. I'm using 2.6 mmsources-test8. The problem was present in test6 as well. I'm using the drivers included with the kernel compiled as modules. My computer is a Pentum 4 2.8ghz on an ASUS P4P800.
I've tried adjusting the volumes in alsamixer to almost nothing, but it doesn't help. The sound on both chips works perfectly under windows, so it isn't my speakers. Any advice? |

Anyone? Since nobody knows, should I report this as a bug? |
