I tried to emerge mythtv and to use distcc, however,... setting MAKEOPTS="-j4" did not work for me. Instead I set MAKEFLAGS="-j4", which works!.
What's going on here, is it correct to set MAKEFLAGS instead of MAKEOPTS?
2nd question: I guess I should have the same gcc version on all hosts, right?

If I were you I would post a full bug report... this could be important but... do you have 3 CPUs to set -j to 4? |

Hade the same problem. Works fore me to. Now it takes almost half the time to compile whti my dual opterons. |
