Hi,
After emerge --sync and trying to emerge world - at the moment not yet running -
suddenly I have booting problem: During the booting stage I get ERROR message: 'UDEV failed to start'
and when the DE's login screen is showing up, it is frozen and keyboard and mouse not active. _________________ “You can take our property, our sweet homes, even our cloths...

I think the largest reason for udev failing to start is having a kernel that doesn't have the required options built into it... however there can be other reasons. A screen cap of the boot process would be useful...
How much of a world update did you do? must be fairly significant...
Did you also update kernel? _________________ Intel Core i7 2700K/Radeon R7 250/24GB DDR3/256GB SSD

No - I did not change anything regarding kernel configuration before this problem suddenly appeared.

How can I do that? The machine stuck with frozen DE login screen...

World update can not start due to conflict issues and it even did not start.
I had similar problem with other machine but there it did not stuck and with some tips of the forum I succeeded to run emerge world,
but here it is frozen.

Could you take a picture with a digital camera of the errors that show up before the GUI?
Also, should try to stop the machine from getting into the GUI, setting softlevel=single should do this for openrc, or systemd.unit=rescue for systemd.
Other possible problems that could hold up your keyboard (though I thought this should be fixed by now) is upgrading your X server but not recompiling your xf86-input drivers. _________________ Intel Core i7 2700K/Radeon R7 250/24GB DDR3/256GB SSD

Dear eccerr0r,
Sorry for not updating my status: Meanwhile I used the DOK of the installation to chroot into the system,
and finally succeeded to run 'emerge world' that fixed that problem and a lot others. However your tips are helpful for others and for mine next time...

This is a good idea - I will use it in the next time (hope not...) facing with such problem.
