Hi,
I am trying to install HPLIP for my printer: HP Officejet 5610 All-In-One -
I emerged it according to http://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/HPLIP
and now getting the below message when I choose the relevant ppds in "HP Device Manager" setup -
"Error : Unable to connect to CUPS server"
Please advise!

You need to have cups runing | Code: | rc-update add cupsd default
rc-service cupsd start |

Yes, after starting cupsd the printer was istalled 
This issue should be noted more clearly in HPLIP Wiki...
