After I emerge just about any piece of software, I always get the following error:
Quote:
* Regenerating GNU info directory index...
install-info: warning: no info dir entry in `//usr/share/info/emodules.info.orig.gz'
* Processed 97 info files; 1 errors.

Its kind of annoying but its not really system threatening or anything. I guess it has something to do with the info commmand?

Any help about this would be most appreciated, thanks.

Same with me, and I found only your cry for help :(

There were some similar problems that got fixed after fixing the info file in question...

I am getting the same error except for me it is lubcdio.

As far as I can tell it is doing something with the install-info program, keeping track of the info files in /usr/share/info and screwing up because on an extra slash?

I have been all through my /usr/portage and /usr/share/info directories trying to find the root of the problem with no luck.

I am tempted to do install-info --delete for the file in question but I don't know exactly how portage would react or what the process is for readding the file to the info database.

This seems like it should be very very simple to fix if we just knew what we were doing :p.
