Hello!

Like many other people, one of the few things really stopping me from removing winDOS is the lack of good tv-out in X. My situation is this: I have a ATI Mobility U1 in my laptop, and I can use atitvout with no problem at all, but the picture is black and white (so I guess I do have a problem :) ) . Darn! I have to force (atitvout -f t) Rage Mobility/Rage LT mode to get any output. When doing 'atitvout pal' I get this error message:
Code:
mode.bash-2.05b# atitvout pal
Failed to detect adapter type.
Use either -f or -r for forcing either Rage Mobility/Rage 3D Pro LT or Radeon/Rage 128

In WinDOS, I have to set PAL-B mode to get color, because I'm in Scandinavia, but with atitvout I apparantly can't even set PAL mode.

Please help!Any ideas? :

I dont understand the how/why, but I have sorted that problem with a small S-VIDEO - SCART adapter (I had the same problem using the s-video cable directly into the tv)

I m using atitvout too.

In general, I do $atitvout -f active t to display on TV (ATI M6). I got good effect on my TVset. So, I think it maybe ur TV setup problem. U can set ur TV color set to be "auto mode".

Happy TVout. :)
