Has anyone gotten these crazy devices working in gentoo?

When plugged in, hotplug recognizes a device has been plugged in, but says it's an unknown device. How do I tell it that it is a joystick and to load the joydev?

Chris

You will have to check that you have the following modules :

usbcore
hid
joydev

and one of the following depending on your motherboard, kernel :

usb-uhci
uhci-hcd
ohci-hcd

You probably need to enable HID input layer support in the kernel

Hope some of this helps, Ian
