Hello!

I've been searching a few hours now and no luck, so I'm hoping you awesome people can help.

I have a Toshiba Satellite A15-S157. I'm having a few issues. First off, how do i know what type of Pentium Celeron I have?

I get the following:
Code:
[root@localhost kermit]# cat /proc/cpuinfo
processor       : 0
vendor_id       : GenuineIntel
cpu family      : 15
model           : 2
model name      : Mobile Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU 2.20GHz
stepping        : 9
cpu MHz         : 2194.564
cache size      : 256 KB
fdiv_bug        : no
hlt_bug         : no
f00f_bug        : no
coma_bug        : no
fpu             : yes
fpu_exception   : yes
cpuid level     : 2
wp              : yes
flags           : fpu vme de pse tsc msr pae mce cx8 sep mtrr pge mca cmov pat pse36 clflush dts acpi mmx fxsr sse sse2 ss ht tm
bogomips        : 4377.80

I don't know if it's coppermine or willamette or if I should use 686, pent3 or pent4.

Which tarball directory should I install from and which flags should I put in my make.conf?

Lastly, I have a wireless built-in orinoco card that mandrake and knoppix support, but the gentoo Live CD does not recognize it.

When i use genkernel --config, I'm overwhelmed by the excessive modules compiled, etc. I'll be needing help sliming that down later.

Mainly now I need to know what tarball to use and what flags.

Thanks in advance!
KJ

Your celeron is based on a pentium 4, so use that for your kernel as well as for CFLAGS in your /etc/make.conf.
Don't get discouraged it's a lot of reading and experimenting but the end result is worth it!
As for use flags, there's an excellent article in the documentation on this site, including a link to a list of current use flags in it.
