Peace,
I downloaded gentoo x86 minimal install booted gentoo in virtual box and it always hangs on
OpenRC 0.12.4 is starting up Gentoo Linux (i686)
am i using the wrong image or are there setting to tweak? |

I have not tried it, so I am just guessing: Could it be that the minimal install cannot be run inside virtual-box? The Gentoo Wiki suggests: When running Gentoo as a guest system make sure you start the virtualbox-guest-additions init script during bootup.

I read on another thread that this is a bug in virtual box so i instead installed vmware and the image worked fine. something to do with newer kernel. |
