fatal server error on startx

when i try to start x

Fatal Server error:
could not open default curor font 'cursor'


i had a problem with the default font before so i started using xfs and configured it so i didn't get that error but now i get this completely new one.

Where can i edit cursor font and what the defaults are set to; if thats what i need to do
