|
|
I get the boot screen OK, but my NIC module isn't being loaded. Modprobe found it at the beginning of the install process and it worked throughout the process, but not after reboot.
All I have in /lib/modules/*/kernel/drivers/net/* is dummy.o, not the list showing in step 3 of the install instructions. My NIC is a D-Link DFE-530-TX.
TIA,

Did you make sure to enable it when you compiled your kernel? If not, reconfigure your kernel to add module support for your card, then to a 'make modules modules_install' (you usually don't have to rebuild the whole kernel to just add one module). Try doing a 'modprobe <module>' at that point and see if it'll pick it up. |

Did you compile the support in rather than using a module? If you did this, there will be no module built for it and support will be directly in the kernel. BTW, the 530TX's use the via-rhine driver. |
