|
|
I need some help. I have installed Gentoo on several different machines and have never run into a problem like this. On a real boot into Gentoo linux, the system hangs on the line "* Mounting proc at /proc"
Has anyone had this problem or know what is going on?
System:
IBM Thinkpad A20M
p3 700
380Megs
I started with a stage 2 install since stage 1 is currently broken. Did an emerge -e system to recompile everything off of my make.conf file and then followed the rest of the instructions.
Any help and/or ideas on where to go next would be appreciated.

had EXACTLY the same problem. had tarred (the contents of) my root-fs to reorganize my harddisk and gen2 would not boot after i un-tarred them back on the new one. after i had created a /proc-dir inside my gen2-root-fs everything worked as nice'n'smooth as ever. _________________ DUMM KLICKT GUT. |
