Pentium 4 trouble -> Live DVD?

I have had constant issues trying to install Gentoo on my Intel Pentium 4 machine. Has anyone used this Live DVD? I am anxious to try it.

I have never completed an install on it. I have used live cd's 2004.3 - 2005.1. 2005.1 works the best, but I can't seem to get the kernel right. I have tried compiling my own, and loading all the modules of the live cd, as well as using the kernel + modules off of the live cd. My video and sound are built in, and probably not being detected as well.
