When I try to create a root partition with cfdisk I see that the intented parttion and the home partition both have an asteriks(*) behind them. According the cfdisk manual this means:
Code: |
If an asterisks (*) appears after the size, this means that the partition is not aligned on cylinder boundaries. |
How can I solve this? Thanks in advance! _________________ Please add [solved] to the initial post's subject line if you feel your problem is resolved. Help answer the unanswered

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. I'd say just go on with your install as it won't mess anything up. |

I could suggest you to read how a HD internal work. Then else you do the needed math or just don't bare to fix it and continue on as most system these days don't complain about such little problem. In the old time when HD drive where way much more little it could render the table partition unusable but since HD grew to size I can't bare too fill myself those information aren't really important else you really want to optimized everything from the toe too tip of the hair but somewhere you'll have to cut the corner as there is a lot of place where you can optimized your installation. _________________ "... before that, there was amoebas..." |

Thanks for all the replies. After doing some research I learned that one way to fix these problems is to use a third party application in Windows. _________________ Please add [solved] to the initial post's subject line if you feel your problem is resolved. Help answer the unanswered |
